The knob groups of the Pitch Instrument and how Live mode maps pool state to sound.
The Instrument is the control surface for a frequency. In Design mode, used during launch, every knob is editable and you hear changes in real time. In Live mode, used for a deployed frequency, the knobs are read only and move on their own as the pool changes.
Knob groups
- Pitch
- Root sets the tonal centre, Range sets how many voices sound at once, Glide sets how smoothly notes move.
- Swell
- Sensitivity sets how strongly activity lifts the sound; Attack and Release shape each note.
- Sustain
- Length and Damping shape the tail, Lowpass and Highpass trim the tone, Predelay spaces the echo from the source.
- Safe levels
- Ceiling, Low cut, High cut and Tilt. Each knob stops at the platform limit, marked by a small tick.
- Master
- Output level, stereo Width and the wet and dry Mix.
Every module has a thin mix slider along its bottom edge. All sound passes through one master limiter set by the Ceiling.
Live mode mapping
- Price drives Pitch.
- Trade size drives Swell.
- Liquidity drives Sustain.
- Volatility drives noise and detune in the visual.
